About us

Wargrave & Twyford Runners are a friendly and inclusive club of all abilities, who share a love of running and encourage each other to achieve their running goals.

How do we achieve this?

· By regular group training and social running

· By club participation in local running events

Wargrave & Twyford Runners is a thriving and dynamic running club. Club members range from competitive athletes to casual joggers, the ethos of the club being one of embracing the aspirations of all members at whatever level they wish to participate.

To enable members to pick their preferred participation in running the club offers a number of options. There are club training runs on weekend mornings, and when sufficient interest a weekday evening interval session. Members are able to join the club’s social media groups which are used to publicise events and activities or could simply ask if anyone else wanted to join them on a run through the woods. This allows members to meet up with others with similar availability and speed.

With Bowsey Woods on our doorstep members of the club will be happy to suggest / guide local off and on road routes to any new members.

The club is a member of TVARC and TVXC which organise closed series of races which restrict attendance to the local member clubs. The summer series are 5k’s on a Tuesday evening and the winter series are cross country on a Sunday morning.

The club is England Athletics (EA) affiliated which offers members the option of EA athlete registration. To find out more information go to our membership page.

Wargrave and Twyford Runners organise 2 formal races each year. These are the Wargrave 5k which is part of the TVARC Summer Series and the Wargrave 10k which is open to all.

We also have a number of social events through the year including staggered jogs and a “Blind 5k” with optional fish and chip supper. Join us if you want to know more!

New members of all abilities are welcome. Since 1984 the club has fostered a strong community spirit with an emphasis on encouraging involvement of all of the family both in its social as well as in its athletic activities.
